Local knowledge,
no tourist script

Pedalocal started because we kept seeing visitors stuck on the same three streets. Shanghai is enormous and endlessly interesting β€” but you need to know where to look.

We're based here. We ride these routes every week. We know which cafΓ© has the best window seat, which alley smells like fresh scallion pancakes at 8am, and which corner has the best view of the skyline that nobody photographs.

That's what we share with you.

FAQ

Do I need a license to ride an e-bike in Shanghai?
No license required. E-bikes in China are classified as bicycles, not motor vehicles. You just need to be comfortable riding a bike.
Is it safe? What about traffic?
Shanghai has dedicated bike lanes on most major roads. We provide routes that avoid heavy traffic and stick to quieter streets. Helmets are included, and we give you a safety briefing before you ride.
What's the deposit? How do I pay?
No deposit required for guided tours. For self-ride rentals, we ask for a Β₯500 deposit (refunded when you return the bike). We accept PayPal, Alipay, WeChat Pay, and Wise.
